About Me
Since graduating in June 2004 from Birmingham Institute of Art and Design, I have been working in full time web design roles and doing freelance web and graphic design.
I'm currently working on a contract delivering user interface solutions on a major e-commerce project for one of the UK's largest food and retail brands. Working predominantly with XSLT, XHTML and CSS building their new shopping portal from the ground up.
I also do freelance web design work for private clients and for Cayenne Web Development Ltd in my free time.
I work predominantly in xHTML and utilise advanced CSS techniques to produce accessible, standards compliant sites.
In terms of the software I use, I have an advanced knowledge of Abobe Photoshop and Illustrator. I hand code HTML and CSS using whatever html editor takes my fancy and tools such as Oxygen and XMLSpy for XSLT development.
I also work in Flash, however the majority of my work and my passion lies in standards based xHTML and CSS work but I'm always trying to learn new ways of using Flash and develop my skills in this area. For example the scalable Inman Flash Replacement technique I use on this site. I've also worked in the past using Indesign, Quark, DVD Studio Pro and After Effects to produce magazine ads, business cards and DVDs respectively.
