David Gafford - Multimedia Design Portfolio

Welcome to my online portfolio

This site is intended to give prospective employers and clients an idea of my skills and abilities.

Since graduating in June 2004 with a 2.1 B.A.(Hons) in Visual Communication (Time-based Media) from Birmingham Institute of Art and Design, I have been working in full time web design roles and doing freelance web and graphic design.

I'm currently working for Symantec™ in the UK as a HTML developer. I also do freelance web design work for private clients and for Cayenne Web Development Ltd. This is mainly a hobby and and also a good way to keep developing my design and coding skills.

Feel free to browse my site and email me with any questions. I am always happy to take on more freelance projects especially if they involve standards compliant, accessible web design.

Accessibility Features

In an experiment in accessible web design I have included several versions of this site for different users. The options can be found at the top of the page.

Mention is always made about accessibility for users with disabilities, but dyslexia is hardly ever mentioned or approached. Black text on a white background is hard for people with dyslexia to read. For some reason, a coloured background seems to help. I have included here an option based on a pale pink coloured background and I will be adding more colour options in the future.
